It’s been a while since my last writing, and although I have more than enough material to fill an elephant’s earyou can’t rush a rose to bloom

While much of the world has stopped moving, I’ve been busier than a bear juggling chainsaws on a unicycle.

How’s that for a visual?

Impossible? Perhaps, but as it’s an analogy…

It’s also true. I’ve been building, creating, and working on projects that are yet to be revealed, but they will as the veil of time continues to decay…

For the nonbelievers out there, maybe give it a try sometime. Believing in impossible things…

Many will dismiss this as nonsense, but I believe they will have missed the point. When you stop trying to make sense of everything, you may find that it all becomes a bit more clear.

As my man Lewis Carroll once so eloquently inked, “Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”

What is impossible, anyway?

As a species we’ve made many great leaps. We lived in dark caves until we learned to make fire. From scavenging to hunting and discovering agriculture, we walked further up the spiral. Out of the dark ages, we crawled toward enlightenment… slowly choosing to create beauty in spite of all the pain and chaos along the way.

We’ve built engines, harnessed electricity, expanded communication technologies, launched rockets into space, saved lives with modern medicine, and on and on…

Now, you tell me what’s impossible because throughout time there has always been more than enough people to call any idea impossible… and then there were the those of us who would do the impossible…

You choose who you want to be and what you want to believe, but we’ve already moved mountains with our minds.

Everything is impossible until it isn’t…

How do you choose to view the world, and what role do you play in its evolution?

Many people haven chosen to play the role of the pessimistic realist … disbelieving in what they can’t see, and occupying their minds with all the reasons something cannot be. Problems become reality, and potential solutions to those problems are dismissed as idealistic, wishful thinking.

Dark clouds reign over their awareness, depressing the creative spirit of the visionary light that lives within. That light which knows they have not been abandoned by the sun still shining just beyond the water vapor veil.

Many of us have built walls to hide their light from the icy claws of a frigid society… you can’t do this… you’re not good enough to do that… stop trying, it can’t be done… it’s too difficult… get your head out of the clouds… come back to reality… the inner child heard this loud and clear. So, the child locked the door, and hid the key to protect that spirit from the onslaught of negative energy.

But just as the sun still shines beyond the clouds, the light within has not died… it was simply forgotten in the veil of time.

In its absence, ego took control, and competition became a virtue which eclipsed cooperation. People increasingly saw themselves as separate from each other, instead of bearing witness to the great family which is molded from the same mud… a mixture of ancient dirt and stardust with the saline blood of the earth, animated by one continuous breath from the great spirit.

The false paradigm which believes competition to be superior to cooperation is crumbling at its foundation. Some will choose to realign themselves and reconnect with their inner light to improve the world around them… not simply to satiate their own desires, but for the benefit of the whole. Some will choose to remain forgetful, and others will fight til their death against the warm embrace.

From the microcosm to the macrocosm, the whole is seeking balance.

Come out of that box you’re living in…

In the past few months, the man behind the curtain threw a few curveballs our way. Out of left field, it seems, and they’ve caused many to become paralyzed by fear, crippled with anxiety, and boiled over with rage.

If you happen to be one of those afflicted, take some deep breaths before continuing on…

BREATHE IN SLOW… HOLD… BREATHE OUT SLOW… (Repeat x3)

Alright, are you cool?

Cool.

Tensions are high, and that’s understandable.

A wrench has been thrown in the gears of the machine. Unemployment is climbing, businesses are failing, and life has changed drastically for many all over the world. I’m not going to minimize anyone’s experience, but I’m not going to sugar coat things either.

Many people have felt pain from these events, and many more will, but allow me to make a gentle recommendation…

If you feel pain, don’t reach for what will numb it…

Feel it…

Wake up into it…

Become more lucid…

Wake up fully into this moment right now, and become more alive than you’ve ever been before. Start a new hobby, or become the adventurer you’ve always wanted to be… dump a bucket of ice water on your face if you need to… Whatever it takes to grab your own attention.

Use this time to improve yourself, and allow destructive habits to drift away. It’s time to reconnect with who you really are.

I’m talking to you…

I’m talking to the real you, not the “you” who identifies with some career, culture, relationship, or way of life. I’m not talking to your problems, and I’m not talking to your abilities.

I’m not talking to your system of beliefs, or lack thereof…

I’m talking to the human being, and the spirit at the seat of your soul. I’m talking to you who exists deeply within the core of yourself… the one who lusts for life… the consciousness which observes the thoughts in your head… the you who will still exist after you shed your skin, and the you who existed before you were born into this lifetime.

Don’t believe in that stuff?

Cool… go stand in front of the mirror and look into your own eyes while you try to obfuscate the truth and create elaborate thought loops in your mind… tell yourself that the force which beats the heart in your chest is just a figment of your imagination… that consciousness is just some neat special effect of a deterministic universe with no rhyme or reason…

Maybe life was more comfortable before, but comfort can breed complacency if you don’t take any time to reflect.

If you take nothing else away from this, reflect…

Reflect not on what you believe your identity to be based on the things you’ve done in the life you’ve lived so far, or what you’ve lost. Reflect on who you really are. Dive deep into the thought of what you’re doing here, right now…

Your life has purpose.

You are no accident.

You are not alone.

You are loved.

Find the courage to start doing what most people believe to be impossible.

When fear assaults, confront it with compassion. Allow the light in your heart burn so brightly that your very presence melts any darkness away.

If you notice someone lashing out in pain, don’t kick them for being down. Attempt to help them up, but if they don’t accept, give them their space.

If a strong ego lashes out at you, send compassion in return. Focus on living in a loving energy so powerful that you become an anomaly so anomalous that simply existing as you are causes anyone in your orbit to question their perception of reality…

If you don’t think that’s possible, then you probably forget the effect you had on people when you were an infant… where all you had to do was exist, and that was enough to bring people joy. There was a time when you were able to transform even the worst of days into the best ones for anyone fortunate enough to be in your presence.

But, I know, you’re not a baby anymore…

You’re all grown up now, and you’ve left your inner child behind somewhere… buried under piles of bills, thrills, and other oddments of adulthood. Yet, that pure energy is alive in you still. It is deeply rooted within the essence of your being, and it never dies. The simple wisdom of the infant is to love and be loved… a divine message stamped into our souls, but how easy it is for us to forget.

If these words are too fluffy for your fancy, let me simplify it a bit…

Do more good shit, and do it often.

The rest will take care of itself. We don’t have to overthink it.

Now is the time to adapt…

In times of uncertainty, it’s easy to become disillusioned. It might seem that there are endless reasons to continue old patterns of behavior, but these are illusory concoctions of the monkey mind which confuses comfort and familiarity for safety and righteousness.

Consider for a moment that there may be something more to it. Growth occurs outside the comfort zone. There will be time to rest again, but now the time is ripe for growing. Do not wait too long to move yourself because the ripest fruits will be the first to spoil.

Let go of trying to figure it all out…

Let’s smash the mold, and create something completely unexpected.

Where selfish actors wish to inspire selfish actions, respond, instead, with selflessness…

There will always be some excuse to remain stagnant if you’re looking for it, but realize that one simple act of kindness can become contagious. It takes courage to initiate that first act of compassion, but your efforts will multiply if you can muster it.

Find the courage to be true to yourself, no matter what anyone else says. Find the courage to become more selfless instead of retreating to the false security of selfishness.

Let the critics throw tomatoes, and I will make tomato soup.

If you’re walking an old path that doesn’t get you where you want to go, don’t be afraid to leave it behind. It was built by others for their purpose. Now is a great time to blaze your own trial…

It won’t always be easy, and you won’t be perfect, but you don’t need to be. All you need to do is a little more each day, and consistency will take care of the rest. Eventually it will become second nature because it is your true nature to be great.

Everybody wants to change the world…

If you want to change the world, you must move yourself, but if you want to improve the world, you would be wise to, first, improve yourself. As you improve yourself, your environment will reflect back what you exude. Like magnets, others will become attracted to the positive shift in energy. They may not be able to put their fingers on it, but they will feel a shift within themselves, and that shift will be spread to others, and so it goes… continuing on as one torch passes its light to the next.

Simply, by improving yourself, you will improve the world around you.

When your actions align with the inner light of your heart, what’s good for you becomes good for the world. Even an act as simple as picking up some trash from the side of the road with nobody around to see you do it will push the needle. Little by little, you will become a stealth agent of awesomeness, improving the world through enhancing the self as synchronicities stack up like dominos waiting for your surreptitious flick.

As you walk further up the spiral, the perceived separateness between the self and the environment melds deeper toward a point of singularity… a place of balanced clarity and calmness free from anxiety, depression, anger, greed, or fear.

Many will scoff and believe this to be impossible, but I know it to be true, and I am not alone. This truth exists deep within the tangled web of thoughts woven around it.

As you learn to master yourself, your energy will effortlessly expand to impact your friends, family, and community… but don’t be disheartened if not everyone jumps aboard the ship you’re sailing.

Everyone must walk their own path, so do not try to force them to walk with you on yours. You may know a more direct route to the top of the mountain, but there are valuable lessons for those who choose to wander through the dark and thorny valleys. Let your light shine, and they will know another path exists when they’re ready to leave their trail of trials and fears behind.

Compassion is a contagious form of courage…

Courage is not reserved for those who run into battle. That is not even close to the highest form of courage. Many people would more easily run towards a fight with a stranger than they would to help a stranger in pain. To the ego this may make sense, but to the soul it is poison.

To be compassionate is to live with an open heart, and to be open is to be vulnerable. To be vulnerable in the presence of others takes great courage, but this courage is contagious. Many people will scoff at the idea, but give it a try if you can find the courage to meet rage and fear with kindness and understanding.

Impossible? No. Difficult, yes but not impossible. Don’t believe the simple lies that come too easy. The energy of the word itself speaks to the inherent contradiction because in anything labeled “impossible” is hiding the truth which says “I’m possible.”

I am possible…

The way of the universe may be complex, but it isn’t complicated. Like gravity, compassion is the ultimate force which connects all. It is a magnetic force which nothing can escape because it is within everything and everyone. No matter how many walls are built around it… still there it exists inside you and everywhere around you.

The trick is to learn to see it…

There are many people who will turn over every stone to seek its hiding place, and never find it. Then there are those who will discover it hiding inside themselves, and they will begin to see it in everything down to the smallest observable particles of the known universe.

Compassion is the fabric of the cosmos, and if you tune yourself in, its energy will flow through you with an electric force so powerful that you will know beyond any doubt that God exists in a way that words cannot even begin to approach in description. For those who don’t like the big G word, it really doesn’t matter… call it the universe, consciousness, divine energy, or whatever you choose, but the truth remains the same. The essence of this energy lives in you as it lives in all things from the song birds that sing to the sun that warms the earth.  Find the courage to embrace it in your own way, and use it to inspire your actions.

When people feel separate from it, it creates disharmony, and this disharmony leads to pain, suffering, and increased selfish energy. I don’t think I need to break down a list of examples to prove my point… we can look around at the world and see the effects of disharmony everywhere…

But don’t forget to see the truth through it all…

Many are lost in a hall of mirrors… wandering in circles, arguing with their own reflections. What you project will be reflected back to you, so choose to be what you wish to see in the world. One who gives no compassion cannot demand it, and one who gives compassion should not expect it to be reciprocated. Give compassion freely, expecting nothing in return, and you will improve the world. It all begins with you.

Living in compassion will be difficult at first. Your resolve will be tested, but the effort is worth it because the potential for reality will expand beyond your wildest dreams.

There is no authority with more power than that which lives in your heart. No politician, no actor, no religious leader, no institution, etc. none of them are more powerful than the divine spirit which lives inside you… and the nature of that spirit is compassion.

In your heart space lives divine love energy…

The love energy that guides a warrior to fight for their family…

The love that guides someone to risk their life to save another…

The love which inspires cooperation…

The love of a mother, father, brother, sister, son and daughter…

The unconditional love of the creator…

It all exists within you.

Don’t believe the lie being sold that claims you are small or insignificant. Tap into the energy in your heart space, and you will begin to learn how big you really are.

I know many people have been beaten down to the point that they don’t see it, or feel it. That is by design of a manipulative energy which seeks to trick you into feeling powerless.

I know who you are even if you don’t. You are much bigger than you can possibly imagine.

Don’t allow the divide and conquer bullshit to cloud your perception.

Be the light you wish to see in the world, and watch the world begin to brighten.

It's An Enigma

Yes, I'm literally writing a book.

It's a mystery wrapped in a riddle, but I'm writing it with the finesse of a silkworm in a spider's web. Join my newsletter for updates.
